The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) in celebration of the National Bible Month, based on Presidential Proclamation No. 124 signed by President Rodrigo Duterte, held an intercollege forum and bible quiz bee last January 16, 2020 at the PUP Bulwagang Balagtas.
The forum entitled “Awaiting His Return” was graced by no less than Amir Tsarfati, former Israeli military leader and founder of Behold Israel Ministry. Tsarfati was born to a Jewish family in Jerusalem, but later became a Christian in a campus crusade where he claims to have known Jesus as the Messiah. Amir was a part of the Israel Defense Forces in 1990 getting his training during the first Gulf War before serving in the IDF Armored (Tank) Corps. At a young age of 21, he was appointed Active Deputy Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley while acting as military negotiator for the Palestinians.
Tsarfati spoke about the book of Revelations in the bible and the things that are supposed to take place in the end-times. He also discussed the urgency of knowing and applying the principles of the scriptures in relation to authentic Christianity and gave emphasis to the need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
In the morning before Tsarfati spoke, an intercollege quiz bee was conducted by the Christians on Demand at Law (CODAL), a student organization under the PUP College of Law. Tsarfati pledged a Holy Land Tour grand prize for the winning student. After a couple of rounds, winners were announced and the grand prize was awarded to Tricia Labriaga, a 3rd year Journalism student from the PUP College of Communication.
