The Manila Express together with other media partner organizations of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) College of Communication (COC) Department of Journalism (DOJ) were given recognition last September 9 at the COC Audio Visual Room of PUP, Sta. Mesa, Manila.
The program opened with the remarks given by Dr. Robert Soriano on behalf of College of Communication Dean Divina T. Pasumbal followed by DOJ Chairperson Hemmady Mora. DOJ Faculty present were Prof. Rodolfo Estimo, Prof. Nikki Fabon, and Prof. Prestoline Suyat.
Media partners present were the Philippine Press Institute, The Manila Express, Philippine Journalists Inc, Aeropagus Comm, Inc., Concept and Information Group, Inc., Vigilant Media Voyager Inc., The Manila Times, Remate News Center, Philippine Star Daily Inc., Alted Publication, Malaya Business Insight, Agila ng Bayan News and Publication Inc., Opinyon Media Advocacies Inc., Inquirer Publication Inc. and Alipato Media Center.
The program was organized by the Department of Journalism together with the Senior Students of the Journalism program.
Said university recognized the significant role of its partners in honing student interns and making a difference in the media industry by its endeavors in the academe and public spheres.
Dubbed as their ‘Appreciation Day’ the PUP Department of Journalism also conducted consultation meetings with its media partners to further improve its student internship arrangements, alumni work performance and program curriculum.
The event culminated with the awarding of certificates of recognition and partners’ forum.
