The Philippine Pediatric Society Southwestern Mindanao Chapter (SWMC) launched Project Teenspired, a fast growing advocacy against teenage pregnancy at Pilar College last November 16, 2019 with Grade 8 students and parents as main participants.
The launch was graced by no less than the president of PPS-SWMC Dr. Rosemarie Arciaga, together with advocacy champions Dr. Dino Hailil, Dr. Ofelia Dammang and project chair Dr. Mary Grace Tan-Uy.
Advocacy Team members present were Dr. Jane Quibilan, Dr. Mary Ann To, Dr. Liezl Abubakar, Dr. Cielito Almonte and Dr. Kuh Asjali.
Participating young people were encouraged to abstain from premarital sex to give honor and true love to: God, themselves, family, friends, future spouse and future offspring. They were also inspired to build godly, healthy and happy families in the future. Parents were encouraged to renew their commitment to their families and were also taught intentional and purposeful parenting.
