BUTUAN CITY, July 11 – A total of 38 distressed and displaced member Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) attended the one-day Orientation and Entrepreneurial Development Training under the ‘Balik Pinas, Balik Hanapbuhay’ (BPBH) Program held recently at the Livelihood Training and Productivity Center Conference Room, Barangay Luna, Surigao City.
The participants are the 7th batch to undergo orientation and EDT under the BPBH program, which consists of program orientation, financial literacy, simple bookkeeping and business plan making which will equip the applicants with proper knowledge as they engage in their own business undertaking.
OWWA-Caraga’s Reintegration program focal person, Jean Mary Ladion facilitated the said activity and discussed the BPBH program, which includes the eligible beneficiaries and the process that their respective applications will undergo before the assistance will be released.
While OWWA-Caraga officer-in-charge Ma. Ireen Cambaling, reiterated to the participants the application process under the BPBH program for them to have an idea on the processing time before their assistance will be released and encourage them to fill out and submit all the necessary requirements to avoid delays in the processing of their applications and most of all to carefully consider the business venture they want to establish.
As of June 25, 2019, OWWA-Caraga has released a total amount of P7,975,000.00 to about 413 BPBH Program beneficiaries with seven orientations and entrepreneurial development training conducted totaling to 366 participants from January to June 2019.
