The National Youth Commission under the leadership of newly appointed Under Secretary Ryan Enriquez in partnership with the Philippine Pediatric Society (PPS) and the support of various stakeholders successfully launched Project Happy last December 1 at the Grand Ballroom of Conrad Hotel, Pasay City.

Happy stands for HIV/AIDS Awareness and Prevention Program for the Youth.  Around 600 youth comprised of SK officers and out of school youth came and listened to the lectures of pediatricians from PPS on HIV, Mental Health and Teenage Pregnancy.

Dr. Imelda Luna discussed about HIV while Dr. Joseph Regalado lectured on mental health. Meanwhile, Dr. Mary Grace Tan-Uy spoke about her advocacy on teen-age pregnancy.

The official video produced by NYC promoting A-B-C-D-E (Abstinence, Being Faithful, Condom use, Don’t use Drugs and Education) to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS was also shown during the program.

The signing of a memorandum of agreement between NYC and PPS was also held during the program, in order to sustain projects which would benefit the Filipino youth all over the country.
