Get excited for the new Action Kid phenomenon to watch in the person of Rodney Wayne Power Jr.
Whatever film genre your family loves, be it comedy, adventure, fantasy, or thrilling capers, the rest of the year is packed with something you’ll be able to watch together. So let us all start looking forward to the best kids’ movies of 2020.
The seven-year-old Filipino-Aussie action kid sensation who was born in 2012 to Australian father Rodney Wayne Power Sr. and Filipina mother Cristina Power, loves acting, singing, and has a Green Belt Degree in Mixed Martial Arts.
His father, Rodney Power Sr., is a 10th dan Master of Martial Arts with a Black Sash from the original Shaolin Temple in Deng Feng China established 1500 years ago by Bodhidharma.
A video made by his father showing Rodney Jr. training in a gym has garnered more than a hundred thousand views on YouTube.
“It’s humbling and I’m excited that a little hobby I have is providing pleasure to many people,” Rodney Sr. said.
“I think my boy is a lot of fun,” mother Cristina told The News. “It’s so cute watching my husband film Rodney Jr. while he’s playing around. Then he goes and turns it to a real movie deal later.”
Last year brought so many fabulous kids’ movies with it (Smallfoot, Christopher Robin, and Ant Man and the Wasp, to name just a few) that everybody couldn’t possibly believe the previous year could top it. But of course, it did! This year 2020 has its own share of soon-to-be kids’ action movie hits, and even the short action films that haven’t yet premiered have many excited.
The brand new short action film offerings are also exciting, like Rodney Power Jr.’s “BamboBOY” which is a Finalist at LEFT COAST SHORTS FILM FESTIVAL along with “NinjaBOY” in 2018. Another short film “TimeBOY” made it to the Semi-Finals at the LOS ANGELES CINEFEST in 2019.
“BambooBOY” developed out of playtime with dad. Real moments in the hill forest, are simply captured on a mobile phone and turned into movie quality tricks.
“TimeBOY” discovers time travel portals open when he punches in certain numbers on his cellphone and teleports him to other places
Rodney Jr. will willingly, albeit for a short time, do movies in the Philippines under his personal manager Jim Macario who is also a newly introduced film director.
“We prefer that we all live in the Philippines preparing Rodney Jr.’s acting ability & experience in front of a camera and even my Cristina is also good at the end of the movie,” said Rodney Sr.
