CABARROGUIS, Quirino, February 14 (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to implement various infrastructure projects this year such as roads, bridges, and public buildings under its Regular Infrastructure Projects funds amounting to P1.455 billion.
District Engineer Marifel T. Andes said they are also expecting some projects from non-infrastructure agencies like Department of Education, Department of Health, Department of Agriculture.
“We will also implement the Roads Leveraging Linkages for Industry and Trade (ROLL IT), a convergence program with the Department of Trade and Industry,” Andes said.
The district engineer said in 2018, a total of 166 projects out of the 168 total projects under the Regular Infrastructure Project funds were already completed, the other two are still ongoing due to late release of funds.
The completed projects include National Secondary Roads, National Tertiary Roads, bridges and other projects with the total amount of P1,801,752,930.00.
Andes said the other projects include construction, repair or maintenance of dikes, river control, river walls, drainage mains, other flood control structures, MVUC Road Improvement, bridges along local roads, Water Supply System, public buildings, hospital and health facilities.
The two remaining ongoing projects, the construction of the Capitol Complex Multi-Purpose Building and the Lacab Bridge along Victoria, Aglipay-Kasibu road, are about to be completed based on the annual report that was forwarded to PIA.
Andes also said they already completed the projects of non-infrastructure agencies and other special projects such as the improvement and built of farm-to-market roads under the Department of Agriculture; 71 school buildings under the Department of Education- Basic Education Facilities Fund and 10 projects under the Tourism Road Infrastructure Program, a convergence project with the Department of Tourism.
