BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Feb. 15 (PIA) – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) allotted P50 million this year for the construction of the Aritao-Carranglan alternate route.
Engineer Perfecto Urban, acting chief of the DPWH second district said the fund will be used for the continuation of the road’s pavement within the province.
He said an estimated 16 out of the 41-kilometer road project in the province have been concretely paved.
“The 41 kilometer portion of the Aritao-Carranglan alternate route is only located in our province. The rest of the road will be done by the DPWH in Nueva Ecija,” Urban added.
He further said, that the project, once completed will ease traffic among commuters plying the national highway in Sta. Fe town.
The Aritao-Carranglan alternate road started in 2012 with yearly funding allocations from the DPWH.
In 2018, Urban said the project was funded with P20 million.
The Sta. Fe Proper-Dalton Pass was observed as one of critical areas in Nueva Vizcaya because of landslides caused vehicular accidents and mechanical problems among overloaded cargo trucks resulting traffic problem in the area. (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
