Ceres Negros mauls Stallion Laguna in PFL nightcap

MANILA — Ceres-Negros waylaid Stallion Laguna, with a 5-0 win in the nightcap of the Philippines Football League matches at the Aboitiz Pitch in Lipa, Batangas on Wednesday.

Ceres-Negros used a three-goal barrage in a span of six minutes to romp away from the Stallions.

Bienve Maranon scored first for Ceres with a 32nd minute goal.

Mike Ott made it 2-0 with a goal in the 35th minute, while Carlie de Murga capped the late first-half barrage with his 38th-minute attack.

Robert Lopez Mendy then drilled Ceres-Negros’ fourth goal in the 64th minute before Maranon sealed the brace for the shutout win with his 88th-minute strike.

Ceres-Negros is now solely on top of the league table again with 31 points, while Stallion Laguna remains in third place with 21. (PNA)
