TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Feb. 12 (PIA)–A Grade 10 student of the Cagayan National High School (CNHS) in this city won second place in the recently concluded 2019 National Population Quiz held in Dagupan City.
With the theme ”Ang Kabataang Pinoy: Ang Aking Tungkulin Tungo sa Planado at Maginhawang Pamilyang Pilipino”, this year’s POPQUIZ aimed to stress the crucial role of Filipino youth towards an empowered and well-planned families.
Chenee Jem L. Quinan, who bested 17 contenders from the different regions nationwide, received a plaque of recognition and cash prize from the Commission on Population and Development (PopCom)-Central Office while certificate of recognition and medal from the Department of Education (DepEd).
Other national winners in the said competition include Jules Christian D. Sendiong of Caraga Regional Science High School (1st place) in Caraga Region and Alaisa G. Abordo of Vinzons Pilot High School in Bicol Region (3rd place).
Quinan, who won champion in the regional PopQuiz here, said behind her triumph in the national competition is the all-out support of her family, school, PopCom Region 2, City Government of Tuguegarao and her coach, Fidel M. Manuel.
PopCom Region 2 will also be awarding certificates of recognition and cash prizes to all the regional winners while congratulatory tarpaulins and certificates of recognition to their respective schools and coaches. (ALM/PIA-2/with reports from Melanie Perez, PopCom-2)
