BFP-Vizcaya kicks off fire prevention month observance

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, March 5 (PIA) — The officials and employees of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) here kicked-off on Monday their month-long observance of the Fire Prevention Month with the theme: Ligtas na Pilipinas Ating Kamtin, Bawat Pamilya ay Sanayin, Kaalaman sa Sunog ay Palawakin.

As part of this year’s observance, BFP conducted the Fire Safety/ Prevention Olympics with the following events: Hose Throwing, Tug of War, Hose Laying and Replacement of Busted Hose, Buckdet Relay and  Emergency Response  Technique, among others.

Provincial Fire Marshall Apolonio Diaz said they will also conduct various advocacy programs and activities to inform various stakeholders on fire prevention and suppression.

He said they will also conduct inspections among industrial and commercial establishments in the province to ensure their compliance on the Fire Code of the Philippines.

“These engagements to our stakeholders will also contribute to the lowering of fire incidents in our province,” Diaz said.

He further said that more business and commercial establishments are now complying with the payment of Fire Code Fees and other requirements which redound to the improvement of their facilities and equipments. (ALM/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya )
