CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, Feb. 12 (PIA) – Eighty one (81) couples simultaneously exchanged “I do’s” in a mass wedding organized by the City Government of Cauayan in partnership with the Philippine Statistics Authority, held at F. L Dy Coliseum in Cauayan City.

Cauayan City Mayor Bernard Faustino Dy officiated the mass wedding which was part of Civil Registration Month celebration. City officials and relatives of the couples witnessed the event.

Dy said the free mass wedding is conducted annually and sponsored by the city government in order to help couples who are living together without being married.

Aside from the free mass wedding, the City Government also provided  food during the reception and some of the requirements in the wedding rites.

“We want our fellow Cauayenos legalize their union and officially registered in the civil registry as husband and wife through this Kasalang Bayan,” Dy said.

He said the city government will continue to conduct mass wedding not only during love month but also in the succeeding months if the need arises. (MDCT/MGE/PIA 2-Isabela)
